Bring a beach chair or a blanket. The umbrellas will already be waiting.
That simple invitation captures something special about Cabo Beach Church. On a Sunday morning at El Tule, gathering for worship also means making room for conversation, sharing coffee, and getting to know the people sitting beside you. For those of us who value the community side of life in Los Cabos, its return is something to look forward to.
Cabo Beach Church begins its new season on Sunday, November 1, 2026, with a 10 a.m. service at El Tule Beach. Come at 9 a.m. for the social hour, with coffee and doughnuts provided, and give yourself time to settle in before worship begins.
The church meets from November through May each year. That seasonal rhythm makes its return a welcome date on the calendar for residents, returning homeowners, and visitors who want to include fellowship in their time in Cabo.
The setting is informal, but the purpose is clear. Cabo Beach Church describes itself as a nondenominational Christian congregation. Services are conducted in English with live Spanish translation, creating a shared gathering for people who may speak different first languages.
Live worship music is part of the Sunday service, according to the church’s visitor information. The beach provides the setting; faith and fellowship give people a reason to come together.
Pastor Rick Gordon leads Cabo Beach Church alongside his wife, Paloma Palacios. Their story connects two backgrounds with a shared commitment to serving the community they call home.
In the church’s family biography, Rick describes a path from the United States and a career building technology companies to life in Los Cabos. After years of Christian faith and community service, he attended seminary and was ordained. Before leading Cabo Beach Church, he served as a co-pastor at Puerta del Cielo.
Paloma is from Mexico and studied tourism in Mazatlán. Her background includes 17 years with the Los Cabos Hotel Association, where the biography records her appointment as executive president in 2015. She now serves alongside Rick in ministry, with interests that include teaching, working with children, and community projects.
Those experiences add depth to this beach gathering: an understanding of people arriving from elsewhere, a connection to the destination, and a commitment to helping neighbors.

The hour before the service deserves a place in your plans. Starting at 9 a.m., coffee and doughnuts offer an easy reason to pause, say hello, and meet someone new.
If you are attending for the first time, that extra hour gives you time to find the gathering, arrange your chair or blanket, and enjoy the setting without rushing. If you are returning after the summer, it offers room to reconnect before the 10 a.m. service.
There is something meaningful about a regular place to see familiar faces. For someone spending a few weeks in Cabo, a seasonal resident returning for several months, or a neighbor who lives here year-round, a Sunday gathering can become a point of connection.
Bring your own beach chair or blanket. The church provides umbrellas and has them set up before attendees arrive. Sunscreen and drinking water are sensible additions for an outdoor morning by the sea.
The location is El Tule Beach on the Tourist Corridor. The church’s official website includes directions and driving videos from both Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. It identifies a large yellow cross, umbrellas, and yellow Beach Church surfboard signs as landmarks near the gathering.
Use those current directions when planning your first visit, and allow extra time for the beach approach. Conditions on sand can change; follow local guidance and avoid assuming that every track is suitable for your vehicle. For access questions or help finding the service, contact [email protected].

The church’s work also extends beyond its weekly worship gathering. Its ministry overview describes support for food assistance, community kitchens, older adults, vocational education, and youth programs.
Among the organizations named are Alianza Alimentaria de BCS, Club de Abuelos San Miguel, Escuela de Turismo CROC, and the Boys and Girls Club of BCS. The page describes both meeting immediate needs and helping people develop skills through educational opportunities.
For anyone interested in helping, that is a reason to learn more directly from the church. Ask Rick and Paloma about current projects, volunteer opportunities, and the needs they are focusing on this season.
A sense of home grows through the people and routines that become part of our lives. Cabo Beach Church offers a place for Christian worship, conversation, and community in a setting that feels unmistakably connected to the coast.
Mark Sunday, November 1 on your calendar: social hour at 9 a.m., service at 10 a.m., and a beach chair or blanket of your own. The umbrellas will be ready.
