Drive out to Km 10.3 on the Carretera Transpeninsular today and you will find a real place: terracotta pavilions catching the late sun, a row of storefronts with lit windows, a smell of espresso drifting from somewhere near the entrance. The village is still taking shape, with additional dining and retail described as coming soon. If you live along the Corridor, in Cabo del Sol, or anywhere within a short drive of it, knowing what is open matters more than another list of luxury logos.
Ánima Village opened its first phase on December 4, 2025, with more than 1,500 guests showing up despite rain that evening. Opening coverage highlighted brand names, renderings of botanical courtyards, and plans for art and community. Nine months later, some elements remain planned. If you are deciding whether tonight is the night to finally see what the fuss is about, here is what is open and what is still coming.
The developer's own updates describe roughly 80 retail, dining, and lifestyle spaces planned across the site, with a shorter list marked as currently open and a note that more dining is still on the way. That is a useful distinction to hold onto when planning a visit.
What has been operating since the first phase are shops like Nike, Hugo Boss, Sandro, Ferragamo, Coach, Farm Rio, Alo Yoga, AllSaints, Guess, Abercrombie & Fitch, Lululemon, and the MAC Store, alongside names like Golden Goose, Victoria's Secret, Maje, and Salomon. That is a real mix of fashion, athleisure, and beauty retail, the kind of stroll-and-browse evening that did not exist along this stretch of the Corridor before. The current retail mix differs from the 84-brand district described in January coverage.
On the dining side, the names actually seating guests are Grupo Hunan, Mastro's, La Lupita, and Starbucks. That is a workable rotation for a dinner-then-dessert night. If you are planning an evening around a specific cuisine or a reservation, call ahead rather than assuming a full restaurant row.
Set those opening-status details aside for a moment, because one piece of Ánima Village has nothing to do with brand rosters and everything to do with why the project exists at all. Arte Abierto, the gallery built into the sea end of the village, is described by its architects as the first public art gallery in Los Cabos. Visitors descend by ramp or stair into a compressed passage between site-cut stone walls before the space opens into the gallery below, where the current exhibition features work by artist Abraham Cruzvillegas.
That detail is worth knowing because it is the one part of Ánima Village that is finished on its own terms, not waiting on a leasing pipeline. Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos, the firm behind the design, has a long history in this corner of Baja, going back to the arch-inspired design of the Westin Los Cabos in the early 1990s and continuing through Solaz Los Cabos and lead architecture work on Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol. The six terracotta retail pavilions and six open-air plazas that make up the shopping side of Ánima are built by the same team, arranged around courtyards meant for walking rather than a single enclosed corridor. Whatever you think of the retail timeline, the architecture holds up as a place to spend an hour even if you buy nothing.
The brands that generated the most attention for Ánima Village were never in Phase 1. Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Rolex, Tiffany & Co., Bvlgari, Dior, Prada, and Valentino are all part of the second phase, which is intended to bring the total brand count toward 84. Coverage from earlier this year placed that phase's arrival at early 2026. Other coverage from the same period projected it for later this year. As of this writing, nine months after opening night, none of the flagship houses have been confirmed as open, and the developer's own site continues to describe additional dining and retail as still coming.
None of that makes the second phase unlikely. It is a large, well-financed project. Oakmont Corporation sold a 51 percent controlling interest in Cabo del Sol to RLH Properties, a Mexico City-based asset management company, in September 2025, just months before the village opened. But if you are timing a visit around a specific luxury storefront, or telling out-of-town guests to expect a Cartier window display, confirm that it has opened before you go.
Two practical notes worth knowing before you make the drive. First, hours are not consistent across sources. One account lists Ánima Village as open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., while another lists 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with free entrance. Given that gap, it is worth confirming hours the day of your visit rather than planning around either number as fixed. Second, the drive itself is short from most of the Corridor: roughly 10 to 15 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas, longer if you are coming from San José del Cabo.
None of this means skip it. It means go with the right expectations. A weeknight walk through the plazas, a stop at La Lupita or Mastro's, a browse through Alo Yoga or Coach, and twenty minutes in Arte Abierto with the Cruzvillegas exhibition adds up to a genuinely good evening, one that did not exist along this part of the Corridor a year ago. Just do not plan your night around window-shopping Louis Vuitton, because that store is not the one you will find when you get there.
For residents who have watched this stretch of Cabo del Sol change year over year, Ánima Village remains a project in progress, with retail spaces and a public art gallery already open.
